I hold a world record for being the first man in the world to ride across world's largest SAHARA desert (three times bigger than the whole of India) on a non-geared, small wheeled scooter - Kinetic Honda in 1992. I have THREE TiMES done Kashmir to KanyaKumari on bikes - 1999, 2001 & 2003. I again did Pune to KanyaKumari in 2007.
I speak Hokkien Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian. Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Hindi & English. I also read and write Urdu.
I have been teaching at various MBA institutes in Pune, India since 1988, including Symbiosis, BIMM, ICFAI, IMDR and several others where I conduct unique programs on PRESENTATiONs PRACTiCE, Decision Making based on the TV Serial StarTrek, Outbound programs, and many others. I was Professor of BITS Pilani 1987-1996.
My last corporate job was Chief Executive, Flexican Malaysia Ltd., a multinational based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which I left in 1987 to return to India.
After clearing my 12th exam from U.P. board in Merit List in 1964, I did my Mechanical Engineering from I.I.T. in 1968. Then I worked for three years as Service Engineer in Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., India's largest diesel engine maker at that time, and became an expert in diesel engines. Wanting to move into Management, I did my M.B.A. from XLRI Jamshedpur, India's 0ldest and top most business school, being among the top five in my batch. After that I held a series of jobs, including Rolleiflex Camera Co. of Germany, TATA Motors (Exports), and Brockhurst Carrington & Associates of Singapore.
Apart from teaching at MBA institutes, I have been testing bikes for more than 26 years - which is longer than any other Bike Tester in India. My Test Reports of latest Indian bikes are published on this site under BIKES. I began testing bikes for Car & Bike International magazine in June 1987 and was Road Test Editor of that magazine till 1993. Then 1993--1999 I Tested bikes for Auto India magazine. After that I tested bikes variously for Indian Auto Journal, Bike2Car magazine & Motorindia magazine. In addition I wrote regular two-wheeler columns for Times of India, Indian Express and Eenadu (Telugu) in Andhra which sells 16 lakh copies every day! I also wrote for Marathi papers: "Aikya" from Satara and "Pudhari" from Kolhapur.
